Place of Solace began in April 2003 as an organization serving those grieving loss in their lives. Over the first year, the organization quickly grew in volunteers and obligations so that it soon was serving more military veterans than civilians. That launched a new focus that has lasted to today; A focus on the men and women who has served our country and are struggling during the transition out of and life after service. Today, all these years later, and tens of thousands served, we continue to focus on the military veteran while also serving civilians in all walks of life.

Calling Florida our home in 2019, the global pandemic was as much a struggle for us here at Place of Solace as it was for thousands of other organizations. But since we are home to several key online veteran services, like Troops to Truckers and other programs, we continued to serve without change. Now during the post-pandemic period, we are again restarting our community outreach programs.

Education has always been and continues today to be our mission. The the particular area of education that we here at Place of Solace focus on is our neighbors in the struggle of military transition, grief, loss, and other everyday challenges. We offer publications for reading and guidance, counseling, advice, referrals to other services, and partnering with other non-profits here in our state.

You’ll know it is us because we are the team that is handing out books to those in need, those who want to help others, and those just interested in what we do. And if you’d like to make a significant impact in our mission, we would encourage you to reach out to us to purchase 50 or 100 books for us to provide to our community during outreach.
